Hip Procedures Made Easy at Nevada Orthopedics
Our providers take a team approach to treatment, working closely with the patient to form a plan of care focused on their individual needs, both personally and physically. Our office offers many conservative approaches to hip care such as injection management and guidance with daily activities that could be aggravating your underlying hip condition.
-
FAI occurs when the hip ball and socket rub against each other, causing pain and limited movement. It's often due to hip joint shape issues. Symptoms include hip pain, stiffness, and limited range of motion, especially during activities like sitting, walking, or twisting. Treatment includes rest, therapy, and sometimes surgery to fix the bone shapes and stop the rubbing. Surgery for FAI typically involves reshaping the bone to prevent impingement and repair any damage to the labrum or cartilage
-
Gluteal tendinopathy causes hip pain and weakness due to stressed muscles and tendons. It happens from overuse or repetitive motions. Symptoms include hip pain, tenderness over the outer hip, and weakness in hip muscles. Treatment involves rest, exercises, and sometimes injections or surgery. Surgery for severe cases may involve repairing or removing damaged tissue and addressing any underlying issues contributing to the condition. Recovery time varies but may involve several weeks to months of rehabilitation and gradual return to activity.
-
Labral pathology is when the cartilage around the hip socket is damaged, causing pain and reduced motion. It can result from injury or joint shape issues. Symptoms include hip pain, clicking or catching sensations, and decreased range of motion. Treatment includes rest, therapy, and sometimes surgery to fix the damaged cartilage. Surgery for labral pathology may involve repairing or removing the damaged tissue, and recovery time can vary depending on the extent of the injury and the type of procedure performed. Rehabilitation typically involves several weeks to months of physical therapy to restore strength and function in the joint.
